BLVD | Beelden aan Zee

The museum is also open on monday 24 & mondag 31 december.

In the dunes in front of museum Beelden aan Zee stand unusual, vividly coloured sculptures by the Flemish artist Arne Quinze (1971). Provoking communication and social interaction is his greatest artistic driving force. Natural Chaos is a series of sculptures that have come into being as the result of an in-depth search for the absolute beauty and diversity of nature. Our towns and cities are becoming increasingly monotonous, busy and uninhabitableBy placing the sculptures in our everyday environment, Quinze wants us to become more conscious of the importance of nature in our society. Arne Quinze began his career in the 1980s as a graffiti artist, but he gained recognition through his sizeable, often controversial constructions in the street scene.

Arne Quinze was born in 1971 in Belgium and lives and works in Sint-Martens-Latem, Los Angeles and Shanghai.
